eBay for Change: Improving programme experience for social entrepreneurs

The Challenge

The social impact team at eBay had developed a programme of support for social entrepreneurs to sell their products through eBay, called eBay for Change. They needed to evaluate, test and improve the programme to support the entrepreneurs to sell on the platform, and therefore increase their social impact.

My role

My role was to develop a learning and evaluation plan, working with the eBay team and social entrepreneurs.

What I did

  • Developed a learning framework including surveys to evaluate the programme from beginning to end

  • Interviewed social entrepreneurs about their business needs and experiences

  • Developed a theory of change with the eBay team to understand impact and drivers of change

  • Collected data from the eBay team on success of sellers on eBay

  • Analysed data to create a set of recommendations for future programme iteration
